We could dramatically increase our open park spaces by entering into partnerships with private property holders and converting land managed by the County into community gathering spaces that can be used for sports, parks, community gardens the arts, and other activities. Cal Optima needs to be restructured. We have to improve the delivery of health care to our most vulnerable residents. We can do better and will re-focus additional resources to the people most impacted by the pandemic and its economic fallout. Learn more
We also need to build more homeless shelters in other O.C. Cities, Santa Ana & Anaheim shouldn’t have to shoulder this problem alone, the rest of the County’s cities need to contribute to the solution. Learn more
We can also help by limiting the increases in rent for our seniors and other people who lived on fixed incomes. Learn more
We will reduce the amount of people experiencing homelessness by using and not sitting on federal funds available to the County. We can provide wrap-around services and help provide job training, opportunity and hope to help people re-enter the workforce and keep stable housing. For those that are experiencing mental illness, we can use special teams of medical professionals working alongside specially trained deputies to get them the help they need and off the streets. We also need new housing that our residents can afford, that is why I will fight for policies that require new construction of housing to set aside a percentage of new units for affordable housing that working families can afford. Learn more
