Get StartedThis proposal shall increase the tax rate of the Ocean County Natural Lands Trust Fund by 1 cent in order to continue to appropriately support the costs of the Ocean County Natural Lands Trust Fund Program. The Trust Fund prioritizes the preservation of properties in order to preserve natural areas of open space, protect watersheds includeing groundwater recharge areas adn drinking water sources, and the acquisition, development, and maintainance for recreational and Historical preservation purposes.
A "YES" vote will permit the County to levey a maximum tax of 2.2 cents per $100 of total County equalized real property valuation. This will be a 1 cent increase, the first and only increase to occur sicne the inception of the program. As an example, at a rate of 2.2 cents, the owner of a property assessed at $100,00 would contribute a a maximum of $22 per year to the Trust Fund.
Shall the Ocean County Natural Lands Trust Fund, which was approved and established by referendum in 1997, and amended by referendum in 2019 to allow for the acquisition, development and maintainance of lands for recreational and historical preservation purposes, increase its funded rate from 1.2 cents per $100 of total County equalized real propery valuation, to 2.2 cents per $100 of total County equalised real property valuation?
